"You will live a short, unhealthy life if you keep eating Chinese takeout."

Ben and I eat Chinese food like it's our job. You would think we were getting kick-backs from Panda Express and P.F. Chang's; it's that serious. As much as our arteries will hate us for it in the long run, we just can't get enough.

After downing orange chicken, lettuce wraps, and fried rice, we eagerly crack open our fortune cookies. Most of the time, our "fortunes" are pretty laughable (Case in point: This was read off of the little slip of paper inside of Ben's cookie once - "It's one of those low-key days that you'd rather spend just chilling." True story.) However, every now and then, you run across one that makes you say "hmm..."  You know what I'm talking about. Those one-liners that pack an intensely profound punch, and make you almost -- for a split second -- believe that the random cookie-stuffer working for chinese food chains might actually have some insight into your life.

Well, we had not one, but two of those rare moments recently. It was during a lunch break, and we had just cleaned our plates. Ben tossed a cookie to me, thus, beginning our end-of-the-meal routine. We crumbled our cookies apart (because really, who eats those things?). Astounded, we revealed our "fortunes":

The fortune on the left is Ben's, the one on the right is mine. Freakishly on point! How do they do it?! Oh Panda Express, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for blowing our minds by providing us with information that we were already aware of. And, of course, for your delicious Beijing beef. <3

Hahaha that is fantastic. And by the way, I eat the cookies. Does that make me a freak?

haha...I guess maybe a little. :) Just kidding! Does it make us freaks that we wrote an entire blog entry about fortune cookies? haha

That is so funny! What great fortunes! My family has this weird tradition of reading them to each other and adding "in the bathroom" to the end of whatever it says. It can make for some interesting fortunes!
